Bruin Resource Center Programs
Bruin Guardian Scholars
Established in 2009 by UCLA and student advocates to help address the unmet needs of the current and former foster youth at UCLA. BGS assists foster youth by focusing on support services for undergraduate and graduate students.
Bruin Guardian Scholars Academy
Launched in 2011 as a partnership between First Star, UCLA, and the Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services, BGSA provides foster youth with necessary educational and psycho-social support to help them graduate high school and enroll in post-secondary education.
Bruin McKinney Vento Initiative
We aim to foster academic success by providing community, case management, and support with basic needs for students who identify as homeless by the McKinney-Vento Act. For eligibility, please email us at mckinneyventoscholars@saonet.

Bruin Underground Scholars Program
Developed in 2019 to support the academic experiences of students who identify as formerly incarcerated and/or system impacted.
Collegiate Recovery Program
Established in 2016 to provide support to UCLA students on their path to recovery from substance use and/or other addictive behaviors.
Intergroup Dialogue Program
Established in 2008 to engage, support and educate the UCLA community on issues of social identity, interpersonal and intergroup relations/conflict, prejudice reduction, and social justice, and impart valuable multicultural skills to the UCLA community.
Students with Dependents Program
Established in 2009 to provide caring and personalized support to UCLA students who are parents, guardians, and caregivers at the undergraduate, graduate and professional school level.
Undocumented Student Program
Established in 2009 to offer a welcoming and safe space for undergraduate and graduate undocumented to access personalized resources and services.
